The publication of the second report by the Colisée Mission Committee for 2022 marks another year in the pursuit of our commitments as a mission-led company. This past fiscal year has been a demanding yet incredibly rewarding period, and a major testament to our efforts on behalf of our residents, the staff who look after their wellbeing, and our environment.
I would like to begin by emphasising that in 2022, Colisée successfully achieved its primary goal: transparency. This report enables every reader to peruse the hard data on our performance results, along with the issues we have faced and the efforts being made to address them in 2023.
Going further in 2023
So, is all this enough? The answer, of course, is no. Within the Colisée network, we prefer to focus on constructive action rather than flashy headlines, and we believe that this is the only way to re-forge a bond of trust with our residents and their families. The uncertain context in which we have all lived for the past several years – influenced by media revelations, rising inflation and the recruitment crisis – has taught us one thing: now is the time for us to act with humility, and to keep moving forward one step at a time.
The efforts made to boost transparency in 2022 will therefore be sustained and further developed in 2023: at the Mission Committee’s request, these efforts will be extended to integrate new tools for measuring residents’ nutritional health, and also the impact of fall incidents in care homes. The next report by the Mission Committee will also include the net promoter score given to Colisée by its own employees (the “Staff NPS”).
As regards the environmental impact of our operations, this report indicates successful achievements in certain areas – such as the SBTi’s1 validation of our carbon trajectory and our GHG reduction objectives. However, it also lays out the challenges we face, for example in terms of the proportion of green electricity used at our facilities. In either case, these initial results encourage us to keep doing better and to surpass the progress already made.
Seizing the initiative in the wake of a crisis
Finally, the “mission-led company” model adopted by Colisée in 2021 is what will enable us to bounce back from the deeply felt crisis of confidence in our sector. This is why we have published the primary data for our economic model regarding the running of nursing homes (EHPADs) in France, allowing any interested parties to consult our list of resources and see how they are allocated, with figures presented on a daily average basis for the year 2022.
As one of the first signatories to the Synerpa Charter of Commitments2, our goal is straightforward: to demonstrate that it is possible to publish this type of data without causing harm to the company or our partners. This is an unprecedented initiative for Colisée, and one which enables us to be transparent about the value we create, as well as our commitment to the common good.
